Children should be children and enjoy their time as kids. But at the same time as they get older, they must also learn to make money and function in our society as a responsible adult.
Often they get a job at a burger joint, where they learn how to listen to the boss, and how to work with others, but then they might have to sacrifice some extra-curricular activities, study time and family time. Not terrible things, but certainly one challenge that many families to help their children their own business.
Why? If we compare the lessons your child learns to work in a paragraph with burgers, a business.
1st Responsibility.
Burger Joint: Yes, it teaches responsibility. You have to go to work and does a good job or your boss and co-workers would mad at you.
Entrepreneur: You also teach responsibility. You have to work hard, or you will not be paid.
2nd Price of one dollar
Burger Joint: You know that time is money.
Entrepreneur: You will learn that creativity is the ownership and responsibility for the hard work money.
3rd How to Market Yourself
Burger Joint: Teaches you how to complete applications and interviews continue to own the market. They do this once and then stopped.
Entrepreneur: You have to keep yourself and your business in a market if you want to earn money.
4th Customer service
Burger Joint: Service with a smile or your employer, you can complain.
Entrepreneur: Service with a smile, or do not get you repeat business and reducing your income.
5th Banking Skills
Burger Joint: Learn how to collect salaries and to deposit the way to the bank.
Employers: you will learn how advertising costs, taxes, budgets and costs and weighs them against your income. You get to deposit your income into a bank and write checks to cover the costs. Learn how business works.
As you can see both options have to earn. As for which option would you choose? That’s up to you and your child.
